Description: The Neumann M149 is a large diaphragm tube microphone with nine
different directional patterns along with a 7 postion bass roll-off
filter. It is the first transformerless tube microphone and it
has an extremeley hot output. It is also the world's quietest
tube microphone. The grill is much more acoustically open than
previous Neumanns.
Applications: A superb vocal microphone, especially for male vocalists. The
M149 makes a great room mic for drums. I've also had excellent
results with it on shakers, conga and glockenspiel. A very versatile
microphone.
