Description: The Neumann KM-84 was first introduced in 1966 and is the first
phantom powered microphone. It is a small diaphragm, cardioid
condenser with a ruler-flat frequency response. It has a 10 dB
pad and transformer based output. This mic is distinguished by
an extremely smooth off-axis response coupled with a near perfect
cardioid pickup pattern.
Applications: The KM-84 is a first choice for almost any type of stringed
instrument. It can impart or accentuate a pleasant 'woody' quality
to the sound. Great on acoustic guitar, hi-hat and strings. |
