Description: The Neumann KM-184 is the successor to the KM-84. It differs
from the KM-84 by using transformerless electronics, and it does
not have interchangeable capsules or a pad. The capsule is basically
the same as the KM-84 with a slight change to the rear opening
of the capsule which results in a 4 dB rise in frequency response,
centered around 8 to 9KHz.
Applications: As with the KM-84, the KM-184 is a great choice for stringed
instruments. I really like this microphone on acoustic guitars.
It also makes a great overhead microphone for drum kits. |
